Réhabilitation of a single-family home
Our clients wanted a complete renovation of an old family residence. The original construction made in adobe, had undergone numerous modifications.
Once the shell was cleaned up, we proceeded to redistribute the amalgamation of disordered spaces, in open volumes with flows of light, air, and more evident and precise physical and visual paths.
Additionally to the new spaces defined, the furniture is also conceived, using oak wood, which, softens these large spaces. A spatial hierarchy is defined through the use of different colors and heights, which helps expanding or contracting the spaces and connections.
On the outside, clay bricks are used to finish the balconies’ floors, closing the set of brick, floor and lower lining, with a folded galvanized steel band where the railing is fixed, in continuity of the external stone staircase. The exterior cladding is done in natural lime in ocher tones.
